QO Otters Compete at the Relay Carnival and Other Events!

Despite a week full of dodging rain showers and lightning storms, the QO Otters were able to host and compete at many successful team events. Earlier this week was the Otters Teen Night, which was held in our pool and featured water polo, food, fun, and floats donated by QOSTC! The following day was the Relay Carnival (A-Meet), which took place at the Mill Creek Towne Swim Association. The Otters showed up in full spirit to represent our club, and they did an amazing job by competing for an overall team finish of 2nd place. Congratulations to all of the swimmers and our wonderful coaches who work so hard to guide our Otters to victory! Other memorable team events that were held this past week include the Coaches’ Long Course Meet at Rockville Swim Center, and our favorite donut social. With only a handful of swim meets and social events left in the season, the Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL) Division E Divisionals are rapidly approaching. While a location is still yet to be determined, we do know that they will be taking place on Saturday, July 23rd. We highly encourage anyone who is able to attend and show support to please do so! Once a specific location is released, we will be sure to let you know.

Improved Facility Amenities!

As was mentioned in last week’s newsletter, the CCACC have begun to make substantial improvements to our facility and its amenities. This week, we took delivery of and installed two brand new water bottle refilling stations! These stations not only improve the quality of water being dispensed to our patrons through its advanced filtration system, but they also help us to reduce the number of plastic bottles that are being used and discarded. We hope that by providing these fountains at our facility, our members will be encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles and thus reduce the amount of plastic waste our club produces. Additionally, we are expected to receive two vending machines this week. Once delivered, they will be located next to the tennis office inside the clubhouse and stocked with healthy food and beverage options for our patrons to enjoy. There are many other exciting improvements that we are looking forward to in the coming weeks, and we will update you when we have more to share!
